One Piece (Japanese: ワンピース, romanized: Wan Piisu; "One Piece") is a manga series written by Eiichiro Oda. The series has been published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since August 1997. 109 Tankōbon volumes have been published (as of July 2024 (2024-07)). One Piece follows the adventures of a 17-year-old boy named Monkey D. Luffy, who gained supernatural powers by eating a devil fruit, and the Straw Hat Pirates, consisting of pirates he collected over time and joined his crew. As the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy travels to the Grand Line to become the next King of the Pirates and search for the world's ultimate treasure known as "One Piece".
The manga subsequently spawned a major Media franchise.
